Fort Armstrong Folk Festival

Riverfront Park, Kittanning PA. This arts and crafts festival is held in the northern portion of Riverfront Park, located off
Route 422, along the Allegheny River and is adjacent to downtown Kittanning, Pennsylvania. Kittanning is 45 miles north of Pittsburgh (Route 28) and 70 miles east of Youngstown, Ohio (Route 422.)
Five-day arts and crafts festival held every August celebrating art, music, food, history, and memories of Armstrong County. Arts and crafts, food, music, fine arts, and other events and activities. The festival is free to the general public with entertainment provided. The goal of the Fort Armstrong Folk Festival is to provide traditional fine arts and crafts, educational activities, and live performing artists to entertain and enrich the community, while preserving and demonstrating Pennsylvania's historical and living heritage.

The legendary Kennerdell Arts Festival is held annually in August and is unlike anything the area has to offer. Amongst the beautiful woodlands of Wilson Park, works of art are suspended free form under the cover of the forest. Painters,
sculptors, photographers, and other artisans gather in an outdoor celebration of their expression. Spectacular outdoor performances by local musicians take place through out the day along with the tasty Kennerdell Community Center / Fire Dept. chicken barbecue. Zambelli fireworks after the show! Collecting food for food bank and donations for Humane Society.

We would like to see this time extend into the first weekend of every August through a new local tradition, the Irwin Heritage Days.
